Who are We? » The Maus Jewelers Story

Picture of Business Owner: Ray Maus

Ray Maus and a partner started the business in 1982 renting a small shop in what was called the Stonewood Village located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. In 1983, Ray sold his share of the partnership and opened a store in the West Bend area. He has moved his business several times over the years but always stayed in West Bend. This small city had all the charm and character needed to raise his family.

This year Maus Jewelers will be celebrating more than 25 years in the Jewelry business.

In the early years Ray Maus was a goldsmith and had one employee to help with sales and service. The business started out very small. The shop was only 80 square feet in size, with only three showcases selling only gold, silver chains, and charms. Repairs were taken home and done in the early morning and brought back to the store later in the day. In 1986, Maus Jewelers started selling diamond and gemstone rings along with diamond wedding rings.

Things have changed a lot since those early years. Maus Jewelers now occupies a free standing building staffed with not only himself in the work shop but another full time designer gold smith. There are four sales associates. Selling and providing all the services a quality fine jewelry store needs to offer. Including custom designing and watch repair.

Business has also changed over the years but Maus Jewelers standards for quality and service have gotten better with their experience.
